Billy and Aaron is a drama about African-American composer Billy Strayhorn and the personal and professional consequences of his decision to live as an openly gay man within the homophobic jazz milieu of the 1940s.

Rodney Evans is the recipient of The Independent Feature Project's Gordon Parks Award for his screenplay Brother To Brother. The film won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance in 2004 and was nominated for four Independent Spirit Awards. He is currently developing his second narrative feature, Day Dream.
