Program Notes
For fans of the legendary Canadian band RUSH, this is the documentary to experience. A comprehensive exploration of the entire history of this extraordinary power trio, from their early days growing up in Toronto, through each of their landmark albums, to the present day. Sit back and revel in the words, music, and wonder of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart.
With a career spanning four decades, RUSH is one of the most successful bands in the history of popular music, but despite their remarkable career achievements, they have never been recognized as critics' darlings. Directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn instead revel in interviews with the band's admirers and contemporaries, including Gene Simmons (Kiss), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Jack Black, and others. Chock-full of rare backstage and concert footage, RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage leaves no stone unturned in its creation of an intimate portrait of these immensely talented and iconoclastic musicians.
Winner of the 2010 Heineken Audience Award.

I agree, should have used a more recent photo of the band. Better yet, how about one old next to one new. Also, the film is only 106 minutes long? With this band's history one would think the film would be two hours.

Rock and Roll hall of SHAME
As a fellow hoser, I would be totally pissed if OUR band RUSH made it to the RRHF. They do not need to be recognized as a group of losers that cannot distinguish the difference between rock and roll and and disco. For F sakes, they inducted Abba of all bands. So little respect they have left should be given to bands that need the notoriety. RUSH is alreasy in all of our own individual halls of fame. Living in the limelight is enough for us all.

These guys have always had such a great sense of humor, but early on, they did not have the ability to poke fun at themselves so much. I have really enjoyed seeing them loosen up over the last decade or so, maybe since getting back together after Neil's tragedy, and it shows in these pictures, which harken back to a time when they actually thought they looked cool like this! It is nice to see they continue to not take themselves seriously. I love it!!!!

Intersting week I have had with Rush. Let me explain, woke up to Rush on the TV when I was sleeping on the couch. Note everyone has changed in looks except the sweet Geddy Lee...It must be the tennis shoes your still wearing that keep you so young looking. You have had the same style since 1979 when you arrived in Dubuque, Ia! Oh, how you bring back sweet memmories. Seen Alex was captured from his hotel and taken to trailer boys. You and bubbles make an awesome deut. Loved it! You still make my heart giggle even now! Well, good luck boys in your coming tours you are going to be very busy keep your strenght up and I hope to see you in Wisconsin, weird I'll be with my 23yr old son. I was 15 years old and had to go with my stupid brother when I first seen yous guys ha!

Rush
Well of course this band deserves the most respect out of any Rock band ever for talent and pure committment to their craft. For decades Rush and its followers have sat on the outskirts of popular music, just doing what they do best which is play great music and entertain to a level of pure perfection, but I have always noticed from their fans this insecurity to the point they would love to see their Master Trio take on an accepted personna. Now Rush does not care about this pretentious crap but their fans are obsessed with making them household names, be carefull what you wish for as this is the reason you love this band they are like fine wine, do not contaminate this great secret and make them like other commercially accepted trash. Rush are a music Secret Society leave it that way.

Oh and I never did think the olympics would be the right venue for Rush, anyway. Think about it. Billions of people watching..and since Rush seems to have a head- scratching effect on some people, only a small percentage of the audience would appreciate Rush. It would have been too wide of a spectrum for their music. As far as the so called Rock and roll hall of fame. That thing is a complete joke ,to me. It never meant anything to me, regardless if Rush has been "snubbed" by them. We shouldn't care! And I don't think Rush, themselves care. Seriously I dont think they do! It's a joke.
