Director Statement

As someone who was displaced from his home due to the first Gulf War and then came close to losing his family on September 11th in Downtown Manhattan, I find myself caught between two worlds. This film came out of a collaboration with myself and writer Jason Delmarty whose personal experiences as an Army captain in Iraq are the foundation for the film. We came from different backgrounds but we shared a common vision to create an authentic and intimate film about people and not ideology - about a young man caught between two conflicting worlds and the difficult choices that he must make in a time of war.
