Tribeca Film Festival Virtual Opening Night: Nice Guy Johnny

You don't need to be in New York City to catch all the dazzle and pizzazz of this year's Tribeca Film Festival. All you need is an Internet connection, where you can check out the Tribeca Film Festival Virtual, which kicks off on Friday, April 23. Whether you're looking for free goodies or taking advantage of all the films that come with the Premium pass, there's something for everybody!

Nice Guy Johnny is the star attraction on Friday night, and FREE users can check out the red carpet (which is expected to have actor/writer/director Edward Burns and stars Matt Bush and Kerry Bishe). The star-studded action starts at 8:00 pm, with hosting by journalist Gideon Yago. Premium users get to check out Nice Guy Johnny (the whole feature film) at 8:30 pm, and can stick around for the (again FREE) live Q&A at 10:15 pm. It's a packed night of entertainment, and you can wear your pj's!

Click here to check out the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival Virtual Schedule, which is loaded with treats for Premium and FREE users: movies, Q&As, red carpets, and more.

Premium passholders can access a wide array of short films and full-length flicks over the next eight days, including a red carpet for the highly anticipated RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage doc (with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson expected to attend), the red carpet and panel for the well-recieved Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work (complete with hilarious bon mots from Ms. Rivers). Additionally, Premium users can use their voice to vote for the best TFFV features and shorts.

FREE users have tons of fun options, with starry red carpets for The Killer Inside Me (Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson expected to appear), Last Play at Shea (Billy Joel and Keith Hernandez expected), and Ondine (Colin Farrell expected). There's also Q&As with the folks from Nice Guy Johnny and the cast and crew of the super-cute Spork.

The cherry on the top of all this internet goodness? The Tribeca Film Festival Awards Show will be streamed free and live on Thursday, April 29, at 7:00 pm.

Keep in mind, FREE users: you have to catch the events live, because once the free live events have ended, they're archived and only available to Premium users, who can watch and rewatch as much as they'd like through April 30.

Are you feeling out of the loop with all the TFF goodness? Don't worry, get yourself a Tribeca Film Festival Virtual Pass and the movies will come to your neighborhood!
