Check out indieWIRE's fascinating, must-read take on Kirby Dick's (potentially incendiary) documentary about closeted American politicians, Outrage. New York Magazine's Vulture blog has the poster. A recommendation: make sure to get tickets to the Outrage screening on May 1. There's an After the Movie panel with former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey. It will probably be memorable.
Moon, starring the underrated and kind of amazing Sam Rockwell as an astronaut, premieres its great poster and its (spoiler-filled) trailer.
Returning Festival filmmaker Danae Elon, who's here this year with Partly Private, a movie about circumcision, has just received a Guggenheim fellowship for 2009. Fantastic!

Let's not make anybody feel old, but this year does mark the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Tribeca Film Festival is celebrating it with the free Drive-In screening (and PIZZA PARTY!) of the 1990 film. Remember when Vanilla Ice was in Teenage Mutant Turtles 2, singing "Ninja Rap?"
