THE SECOND DAY

Dir: Brook Peters | 38 mins
SAT 4/30 2:30PM
BMCC Tribeca PAC (at 199 Chambers Street, between Greenwich & West Streets)

The Second Day is an inspirational documentary film about the students and educators at "Ground Zero" area schools who experienced first-hand the tragic events of September 11, 2001 in New York City.

Directed by 14-year old filmmaker Brook Peters, then a member of the kindergarten class at P.S. 150 Tribeca Learning Center, the documentary sheds emotional light on the moments of that fateful September morning through Brook's interviews with fellow classmates, students, teachers, faculty, a FDNY Captain and counselors. The film also depicts the ultimate resilience of these students and educators in the event's 10-year aftermath.

NIKO The Journey to Magika

Dir: Robert Quilao | 92 mins
SAT 4/30 4:00 PM
BMCC Tribeca PAC (at 199 Chambers Street, between Greenwich & West Streets)

When Niko visits his grandparents in the Philippines for the summer, he knew he would be exposed to a different culture. What he didn't expect was to plunge headlong into an unseen world of magic and mystery. Now with the help of an exotic vampire girl and a host of other mystical creatures, he must overcome his own fears and embrace his destiny in order to save his grandparents from the forces of evil -- an evil he had unwittingly unleashed.
