TKA Reporter's' Blog: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Jeffrey

Screaming and clapping was still in my head after I left the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' 25th anniversary drive-in celebration. It was an awesome party. Pizza, popcorn, martial arts lessons, and face painting were just some of the fun things happening there. Abril and I got our pictures taken with the turtles!

We interviewed the director, the co-creator, kids at the drive-in, and two adults who were dressed up like the turtles. The coolest thing I learned is that the co-creator created Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because he was interested in Kung Fu. He was fascinated by people who do Kung Fu, like Bruce Lee. Since turtles are the slowest animals in the world, he thought that it would be funny if he made turtles do Kung Fu!

I ate more than my share of pizza, because it was free! I also got my face painted to look like Raphael. The paint felt like a bug crawling on my face at first, but after it dried I didn’t feel it anymore.

They showed the first Ninja Turtles movie outside by the water. The screen that they played it on was blown up by air! I wish something like this would happen to me every day.

Hey guys!!

Omigod! I had so much fun at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Drive-In. I'll explain why:

First of all, we went to take a picture with The Turtles and they were VERY enthusiastic!  Next we interviewed all the brilliant people behind the TMNT, like co-creator Kevin Eastman and director Steve Barron.

Next, Jeffrey got his face painted and it was really cool to watch the painters do his face because they were really quick and careful. Then we drank some Snapple and had some pizza. My favorite Snapple flavor is Kiwi Strawberry. It’s delicious!!!

I had the greatest time at my first Tribeca Kids Access event.
Keep coming online for our latest updates!
XOXO,
Abril
