Wow!!
I had a great time with Allison at the premiere of P-Star Rising!! Everyone was so nice to us! P-Star (Priscilla Star Diaz) is a very talented singer and actress. Her interview was probably my favorite, because she was so awesome and nice. She is really enthusiastic and answered all our questions! My second favorite was Priscilla's big sister Soul-Sky. She was very happy for her little sis and was so excited to see the reaction of all her fans. I would say that Soul-Sky is a very good big sister to P-Star and believes in her so much! The rest of the interviews were really fun! We even got a lesson on how to beat box by Shock from the Electric Company. Then Allison and I watched P-Star perform and she was really, truly amazing! Good job, Priscilla!!
All in all, the night went really fast, and Allison and I had a blast!! (Hey! that rhymes!)
Kisses 'n hugs,

The mango-colored sky started to turn to lavender as the sun was setting and P-Star Rising was soon to begin. P-Star (Priscilla) appeared live on stage and sang her popular song: Wanna Make You Dance, which I definitely love. Then the documentary started. P-Star suddenly splashed across the huge screen set up along the Hudson River. In the beginning P-Star lived a hard life in a temporary apartment with her older sister Soul Sky and her single parent father, Jesse, in Harlem. P-Star was nine years old and had just begun her music career.
After P-Star got signed, she became demanding and short-tempered. Her father forced P-Star to distance herself from her sister Soul Sky. I was plugged to the turn of events and I was starting to get disappointed at P-Star and her father Jesse. They kept on excluding and ignoring Soul Sky. I disliked this because it felt as if she was always left out and was never really in their lives. Soul Sky was so overshadowed by Priscilla (P-Star) that she failed most of her classes.
When P-Star and Soul Sky found and met their mother again that was a heart touching moment. People can always change to better themselves and others just like the effect the mother, Dorris, left with her family.
In the final part of the movie Priscilla confronts her dad about thinking ahead and not fixating on the past. I agree with this because one can replay a moment in the past over and over again. A moment in the future hasn't happened yet and one can always change it to be beneficial or non-beneficial.
It's not too difficult to understand some of the obstacles the Diaz family went through in the film. This is a great film for a hip-hop or rap person and a great family film. I recommend this film for older children because they could understand some of the concepts better than younger kids.
