TKA Reporters' Blog: Opening Night and Whatever Works

Samantha

First off, there is only one word to describe this premiere, mind-boggling! Just absolutely mind-boggling. Being at the Woody Allen premiere was just such an amazing experience, not only because of the celebrities, but because of the intense excitement that found its way to each reporter. I have been reporting for three years now, but every time I am about to interview someone, I get this happy feeling that is bottled up inside me. That's how I felt at the premiere.

I couldn't believe that Woody Allen was going to be there and I was going to have the chance to interview so many talented, actors, producers, and directors. Such as Debra Messing! I have seen her in Will & Grace many times, and I can't help to think that she is an extraordinary actress. Getting a chance to talk to her was truly wonderful. There was one person who I got to interview that made my night. Without a doubt, that was Robert De Niro! He usually doesn't talk to the press, but I tried my hardest to talk to him. And what do you know? It worked.

It was sensational to be at the opening of the Tribeca Film Festival. The air was vibrant, the carpet busy with actors, writers, and even a couple of dozen enthusiastic fans.

I got to meet and do interviews with many famous people like Henry Cavill, Uma Thurman, Robert De Niro, Brian Williams, and many others. With the opening movie for the Film Festival being a Woody Allen film, we asked, "What is your favorite Woody Allen movie?" The popular ones were: Annie Hall, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Manhattan.

Unfortunately, we did not get to meet other stars like Woody Allen or Evan Rachel Wood. But you get what you get, and you don't get upset. It was a bit freezing to be standing there for two hours waiting for the stars, but it was worth the wait. Overall, the night was phenomenal.
