Downtown Youth Behind the Camera

The 2009 Tribeca Film Festival is proud to screen a collection of shorts made by young filmmakers.

Downtown Youth Behind the Camera is presented as part of the Festival's commitment to giving young filmmakers a venue for their creativity, and encouraging them to express themselves through this vital art form.

The 2009 DYBC program will be held on Sunday, April 26, at 10 am at the School of Visual Arts Theatre.

Following the screening, the participating student filmmakers will be led in a discussion by Marshall Curry, director of the documentary Racing Dreams. Returning to the Festival after winning the  2005 Audience Award for Street Fight, Curry peeks into the lives of three kids who are all competing for the World Karting Association's national championship, a huge stepping stone to auto racing's big show—NASCAR.
