Tribeca Enterprises

Tribeca Enterprises is a diversified global media company based in New York City. Established in 2003 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, the company currently operates a network of branded entertainment businesses including the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival International, Tribeca Cinemas and Tribeca Film, a distribution initiative. It also has a strategic partnership with the Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy. The company’s mission is to provide artists with unique platforms to expand the audience for their works and to broaden the access point for consumers to experience independent film and media. Jonathan Tisch, through Walnut Hill Media, is a minority investor in Tribeca Enterprises and is a member of the Board of Directors.

 





Tribeca Film Festival

The Festival’s mission is to help filmmakers reach the broadest possible audience, enable the international film community and general public to experience the power of cinema and promote New York City as a major filmmaking center. Tribeca Film Festival is well known for being a diverse international film festival that supports emerging and established directors. The Festival has screened over 1300 films from over 80 countries since its first festival in 2002. Since its founding, it has attracted an international audience of more than 3.7 million attendees and has generated an estimated $725 million in economic activity for New York City.

Tribeca Film is a comprehensive distribution platform dedicated to acquiring and marketing independent films across multiple platforms, including video-on-demand, theatrical and home video.  It is an initiative from Tribeca Enterprises designed to provide new platforms for how film can be experienced, while supporting filmmakers and introducing audiences to films they might not otherwise see. American Express continues its support of Tribeca and the independent film community by serving as the Founding Partner of Tribeca Film.

As the Doha Film Institute's (DFI) annual celebration of all things film, the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF ) is a community-minded, five-day event that showcases the best of Arab and international films. The Festival also reflects DFI's film financing and year-round educational arms with industry programs and filmmaker events designed to fulfill DFI's mission of empowering storytellers and building a long term film industry in Qatar. Launched in 2009, the Doha Tribeca Film Festival reflects a successful cultural partnership between DFI and Tribeca Enterprises. Based on a mutual mission to promote the influence of cinema, the importance of community culture and the need for arts education, the Festival provides an annual platform that celebrates the wonders of film appreciation and entertainment from every corner of the globe.

Tribeca Cinemas

Tribeca Cinemas is a year-round venue that hosts the Tribeca Film Festival and the Tribeca Cinema Series, and can be booked for non-Tribeca events. TC features two screening rooms that can accommodate nearly any film or digital format for movie premieres, special screenings, and presentations. It also features two separate lounges, a private VIP screening room, a full kitchen, and more.

Co-founded 1989 by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, the Tribeca Film Center was the first commercial space in Tribeca dedicated to housing film, television, and entertainment companies. TFI empowers filmmakers through grants and professional development, and is a resource for and supporter of individual artists in the field. The Institute’s educational programming leverages an extensive network of people in the film industry to help New York Citystudents learn filmmaking and gain the media skills necessary to be productive citizens and creative individuals in the 21st century.
